100rds – 22 LR Remington Performance WheelGun 22 39gr. Truncated Cone Solid Ammo Details
Looking for the perfect 22 LR ammunition for your revolver? Don’t load just any ammo in there, like you’re some kind of barbarian. Choose the equipment that’s specialized for the task at hand, and crack into a plastic box of Remington Performance WheelGun 22!
This cartridge isn’t loaded with a conventional 40 grain bullet. It is loaded with a 39 grain bullet, which is admittedly not that big a difference.
The bullet has got a couple of unique things going for it, though. First, it is guaranteed to become subsonic out of a revolver; perfect if you want to feel as little recoil as you’re able, create as little noise as you’re able, or both. Second, it is a truncated cone solid. Its sides are sloped instead of curved, and its tip is flat instead of round – an optimal profile for target shooting.
“Solid” merely indicates that the bullet lacks a nose cavity, and therefore isn’t built for terminal expansion. It’s not a hunting bullet, in other words, although fur collectors can easily imagine the utility of a soft-striking and non-expanding bullet that also tears out clean entry/exit wounds.
