Weatherby 154 Grain Soft-Point (SP) Ammo Details
We would never tell an AR enthusiast to abstain from dumping out a 100-round magazine in ten seconds. Quite the contrary. We fully encourage that kind of thing. But if you’re firing a fine 7mm Weatherby Magnum hunting rifle, then you really want to savor every trigger squeeze in full. It’s the difference between drinking a case of beer and sipping a snifter of fine cognac.
Here is 7mm Wby Mag ammo you can truly savor: Weatherby Select, which is loaded in accordance with the great riflemaker’s strictest specifications for quality.
Weatherby doesn’t make bullets. That’s OK. They don’t have to, because they can tag Hornady when they need premium 7mm soft point bullets. This round’s 154 grain projectile is none other than the InterLock, which combines a secant ogive profile and sleek, aerodynamic meplat to secure a reliably flat trajectory. The SP’s G1 BC is 0.433, translating to 1,600+ ft lbs kinetic energy retention at 500 yards.
High-velocity impact doesn’t destroy the InterLock. Thanks to the raised ring it is named after and its cannelure, the bullet’s core and jacket are both rooted together in two separate places. And if the InterLock hits light, its grooved and tapered jacket will still allow it to expand wide and send out a shockwave of deer-toppling energy.
