400rds – 7x64mm Brenneke Sellier & Bellot 173gr. SPCE Ammo Details
Kudos to you, boyo. Whereas other American hunters stick to tried-and-true 30-06 and 308, you venture out into foreign territory. You are a 7x64mm Brenneke hunter, which means you’d have a devil of a time finding your ammo if not for AmmoToGo.com.
The 7x64mm is most popular in Central Europe. It only figures that Sellier & Bellot, which is headquartered in the Czech Republic, should have made this versatile ammo. It is loaded with a 173 grain soft point cutting edge (SPCE) projectile, which is nonmagnetic and not so sophisticated that you’d dread paying to send it through a bullseye.
Anchoring medium game is the SPCE’s true talent, though. It doesn’t just wound game by undergoing terminal expansion. Thanks to is shank, which is cylindrical and ends in a 90° shoulder, the SPCE punctures a big entry wound into its target as well. It kills quicker, and it also causes more bleeding to facilitate tracking…
…which you ideally won’t have to do, of course. The SPCE cuts a reasonably flat and easily aimed trajectory. By the manufacturer’s estimate, the 0.376 G1/0.189 G7 BC bullet drops -4.6” 100 yards downrange of a 100-yard zero. Its 100-yard striking energy is 2,000+ ft lbs, which means Mr. Deer better fear getting near the all-talented 7x64mm hunter (you). New brass; reloadable. Boxer-primed; noncorrosive.
