500rds – 5.56×45 Black Hills 62gr. Dual Performance Ammo Details
That’s because Black Hills Ammunition equips the hunting and home defense load with the Dual Performance, which doesn’t simply increase in diameter after finding its target. It also extends numerous sharp cutting petals that chisel an effective wound channel in their paths.
The Dual Performance is a solid copper (i.e. monolithic) hollow point bullet. Its lead-free composition doesn’t simply suit the Dual Performance for hunting on guarded land. It also conserves accuracy by eliminating lead fouling of the barrel, delivers an outstandingly consistent trajectory thanks to its streamlined form and flawless rotational stability, and enters deeply into a soft medium by nearly avoiding terminal fragmentation altogether.
This round’s heavier 62 grain Dual Performance retains more downrange momentum, hence its suitability for longer-distance shooting. Black Hills of South Dakota loads the Pennsylvania-made solid copper hollow point in a premium brass case (which is brand new but visibly annealed), complete with an expertly matched Boxer primer and propellant charge.
