50rds – 32 H&R Magnum Federal American Eagle 85gr. JSP Ammo Details
Do you want 32 H&R Magnum ammunition by the very same company that invented the cartridge? Then you have only one choice: Federal Premium, whose American Eagle line of ammunition is perfect for all things target shooting.
The jacketed soft point is a popular choice for personal protection, and for taking small game as well. With that being said, please be sure that Federal does not bill this ammo as being designed for either of those applications. They mark their JSP down as a target bullet, which at 85 grains and 975 fps muzzle velocity supplies familiar recoil and point of aim as several dedicated self-defense loads.
Federal recorded this round’s MV with a 4-V (i.e. 4” vented) test barrel. If your revolver shares the same barrel length, then you can anticipate 158 ft lbs striking energy at 50 yards. If you chamber this ammo up in a lever-action rifle, which it is safe for, then you can touch targets at that range with significantly greater kinetic energy. Realistically speaking, the JSP doesn’t need terminal expansion to toast a varmint regardless of whether it originates from a handgun or rifle.
Federal assembles these target slappers at their historic factory in Anoka, MN using all their own high-quality components, including touchfire primers, clean-immolating propellant, and new brass that can be reloaded back to full form.
