50rds – 9mm Eley Minor9 124gr. FMJ Ammo Details
It’s not just 9mm ammunition with a power factor of 130, which satisfies the USPSA’s handgun minor power factor requirement. It is specifically certified for competition by the USPSA itself!
If none of that means anything to you, then let’s take a step back. To put it simply, “power factor” is a measure of how powerful ammo is. Makes sense. It’s a number that takes the cartridge’s bullet weight and muzzle velocity solely into account. A 124 grain bullet’s not unusual for the 9mm. A muzzle velocity of 1,048 fps is on the lower end for a 124 grain bullet, however, which is why this ammo is (A) less powerful than several other target loads, and (B) an excellent choice if your goal is to keep recoil at a steady minimum.
Eley Minor9’s non-expanding FMJ and lighter striking energy both suit it poorly for defense. The American-made and thoroughly standardized ammunition is a very correct choice for training and competing, of course, and it’ll also do right by you if you’re just shooting for the pure enjoyment of it.
