5rds – 12 Gauge Federal 2-3/4″ 16 Pellet 1 Buckshot Ammo Details
It’s not a “scatter gun.” It is a precision instrument – aka your 12 Gauge shotgun – but only when it is loaded with exceptional buckshot ammunition, such as Federal Premium’s!
This shell is loaded with 1 buckshot. Despite what its numerical designation suggests, the 1 buck pellet’s diameter is narrower than that of the famed 00 buck alternative by 0.03”. Doesn’t sound like much, but that little size reduction enables the 2-3/4” hull to hold a whopping 16 pieces of 1 buck!
That’s not the only reason why you can trust this round to land a commanding number of pellets on target. The pellets are plated in copper, which armors them against deformation during ignition that could lead to wider patterning, and does the same after impact so as to keep the pellets in their most spherical, deepest-penetrating form.
Copper plating isn’t the shot’s only secret weapon. It is also packed with supple buffering, which drinks in recoil energy that might otherwise have misshapen the shot. That keeps it even rounder, so it can fly straighter and conserve greater velocity until the moment of truth!
